PBD transit form. Is it necessary?

Is it necessary to have a transit form for PBD?

Assalammualaikum teachers. Hi. Good morning if it’s still morning when you are blogging here.
Some ask me is it necessary to have a transit form for PBD?

Frankly speaking, YES. We enter the class and we did PBD. There must be a systematic way to record our assessments. If not, we tends to hesitate when we award PL (performance level or Tahap Penguasaan in BM).

By recording the PL in a systematic way, we can monitor their progress from Januari to November.
Also, we can see some pupils excel differently. Some pupils (I name them pupils type A) score in listening and speaking (due to exposure to English movies), however, lack in reading and writing. A few of them, master all the skills. (for their age)

Unfortunately for those who did not prepare the transit form, he could misinterpret pupils type A. This is because, the writing and reading exercise are easier to evaluate in the classroom. Speaking and listening activities too must be conducted and evaluated for each of the pupils.
Therefore, making the transit form a friendly task, is a must.

Ask yourself,
1.   do you like looking at notes?

2    2.  Do you like technologies?

3     3.  Do you like to jot down in a printed form?

If your answer is Yes for the first question, you can have a transit form in a notebook. Jot down every lesson there. Include the date, and pupils’ name. Group the pupils into their PL. Monitor their progress and jot down in your notebook. Make sure, you bring the notebook everyday at school.

If your answer is YES for question no 2, you might want to try the e transit form. No need to use the pen anymore. Simply hit the PL in your smart phone and submit. Done. No need to print them out. It's easier when you transfer the PL to the template pelaporan, the data is there. Don't think too much.

If your answer is YES for question 3, you can print the transit form, or print the template pelaporan and jot in there. Make more columns that can fix all the data. Compile them in your record book/record file.

Another suggestion is, you can write the pupils’ name in the lesson plan. After the lesson, jot down the PL for all of them. You can use EVERNOTE application, to record the data, or audio if you are in a hurry. Then, transfer the PL to your lesson plan. However, it doesn’t compile all the data in one form. Still, you have to refer to each of the lesson plan.

Teachers too have multiple intelligences.  Choose the best method that suit your interest. Some teachers have small numbers of pupils. Some have 40 pupils maximum. Some teachers had to teach 11 to 14 classes. Some less. Choose the easiest way for you as long as the PL recorded.

What if,
“My answer is NO to all of the questions.”
OMG!!! Huhuhu..
Don’t worry teachers, I have a solution for you.

You can have the Summative assessments every month to check their progress.
(reminder: summative assessments is not a test for level 1, please conduct the  summative assessments in a fun way , project, roleplay, quiz and more. for level 2, it's ok to have a test. The test can evaluate their PL)
Keep all the docs with you. When it’s time to award PL at template pelaporan refer to the docs. I just could not imagine how many docs do you want to keep? Hmmmmmm…

Do you have any other solutions for the NO answer?

Drop a comment. Let’s discuss.

Regards,
